Meet Aileen
BrokerAileen’s greatest gift was being born and raised in a small village in northwest Ireland during The Troubles. The only daughter of an undertaker and grocer amongst five brothers, the navigation, resourcefulness and adaption necessary for survival in her family allowed her to develop unique skills and gifts. She joyfully uses those skills to advocate and empower clients with initiative, energy and enthusiasm to reach their dreams.
Aileen found her passion in real estate due to her natural connection with people, boundless energy, dedication to family, and treasured friendships. In 1994, she graduated from England’s Bournemouth University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Financial Services, an innovative new degree of its time. She then achieved her dream of working in London for Nomura Asset Management, however, winning a Green Card in the lottery for the United States was more exciting to her and led her to satisfy her dreams of a life in America.
In 1998, she emigrated to Orange County, California, where she would lay foundations for the next 10 years. After a year working in international public relations for a computer gaming company in Irvine, California, a friend encouraged her to pursue a career in real estate. Jumping in enthusiastically, it was quickly apparent that Aileen had found her niche. She participated in a record-breaking sale in Laguna Beach, and her career excelled to great heights with accolades such as President’s Elite status and winning the Number One Rookie of The Year award for Coldwell Banker throughout all of Orange County. She personally helped grow a real estate portfolio of 14 properties in a variety of investments and 1031 exchanges including commercial buildings, vacant land, residential properties, and an orange grove.
Aileen and her three vibrant, young sons, Manus, Patrick and Oscar, have been happily settled in Carrboro since 2012, and the boys attend Woods Charter School in Chapel Hill. Aileen dedicates her time and expertise to relationship-building and referral-based business, and she thrives on negotiating and advocating for her clients for homes and investments. She cherishes deeply how her friends become her clients and her clients become her friends.
Any hankering for Ireland has long since been soothed in North Carolina where she finds her soul being nourished each day, with the abundantly green countryside, beautiful cloud formations in the Carolina blue skies and warm southern hospitality. Aileen is an aspiring author with goals to pen an inspirational bestseller, loves tennis and strives daily to bring a soul shine to the hearts of those she encounters with her unique zest for life.
